Speedy!
There once was a bunny named Speedy
who all the local kitties thought was weedy
The Battle ensued between Kitty and Bunny
Speedy saw off the foe with a big heave ho
followed by a giggle cause he thought it was funny
and Why did the bunny find it so funny?
Why he's Speedy the cheeky House bunny
And to end this Brave Tail of Speedy
All the Kitties far and wide came to know this cheeky
Speedy a thrower that is of fine Parties in the know
and what else may you ask?
Why he's a Pirate and Buccaneer at the helm
And a Knight errant of the realm!
That's Speedy our Cheeky House Bunny!

Speedy is Home! Updated with photo's!

Speedy is Home!We just got home with him,and the nurses and Chris are really pleased with him ,all the food and hay I took in last night,is gone Speedy munched the lot and he is currently in his play pen munching on a huge salad and the first thing he did was jump in his litter box and pooped and finally did a huge pee,I guess he was saving the pee for home.I'll take some photos and post them a bit later so you can see him.....

And he just had a cuddle on the bed with me....and he was so happy he did his bunny roll and flop in my arms!

I saw Speedy tonight

As we were going to a wedding tonight we stopped in at the vets with some more of Speedy's favourite food and hay and treats ,the vet was about to close and they let me see him,he seemed quite bright and had been eating well but no poops yet but he will,as soon as I put the hay in the cage he started nibble on it straight away.I gave him little scratch on his good side of his head.he looks sore and is all shaved on the left side with neat stitches,even though he looks sore he isn't as he is full of pain relief.I said to the nurse to put a cat litter box with hay in it to make hum feel more at home as I know he will munch and poop and pee like normal in that as that is what he is used to .I said good night to Speedy and told him to be a good boy for mummy.He will be home tomorrow morning.

And now the wait has started! UPDATED!!!!

And now the wait has started!I dropped Speedy off an hour ago at the vets,while I was waiting for the nurse to admit Speedy we had one last cuddle with him settled on my tummy and my arms wrapped around him.Speedy was such a good boy and the nurse's and staff are already in love with my baby boy,so he will get lots of cuddles.And so I wait now for the call to say he's OK and awake.....

So to let you all know Speedy has had his surgery and is awake and eating!
Chris our vet (The Eye Vet) said that he is dazed but is awake and eating but wants to keep Speedy over night to make sure he continues to eat but he went for the parsley in his salad that I left for him with a small bag of his pellet food but I as I had know idea that he would be there over night I only put a small amount of his pellets in a bag so I guess the vets will give him some other stuff too.
I am glad that Speedy will be there over night as we have a wedding to go to later and means now that I will be able to go to now with the hubby because I was going to stay home to look after Speedy and if there is a problem Speedy is in the right place as they have 24hr nursing care.Speedy will be home tomorrow but we will call the vet later to see how he is doing....Don't worry I keep you updated!

Just a Quick Up Date on Speedy and His surgery

Speedy's Surgery is booked for Thursday 15th August!
we want to thank you all for your well wishes it has Cheered Speedy and us up a lot,and today we received this cute card from Daisy and Cress at Daisy and Cress the Guinea pig sisters

 

Speedy is going to have Surgery!

The Time has come to decide do we keep trying to save Speedy's Left eye or do get Speedy's eye removed after talking about it this weekend and there has been no further improvement in the healing of the eye So we have decided that the best thing for Speedy is surgery ..... This will mean no more eye drops or eye gel and no more pain killer to stop it from hurting once he has recovered from the surgery.
What is the point in trying to save the eye when he can't see with it and it is causing him pain....there is no point.I don't know when it will be as I will talk to the vet tomorrow about the cost and when it can be done.
So once he has recovered Not only will Speedy be The Cheeky House Bunny but he will be A Cheeky Pirate and Buccaneer too!
