International Rabbit Day

 Hello Blogville It your one and only Gossip Bunny with all the latest news from my neck of the woods. I know its been a few months since I last posted and we have had some ups and sadly we have had some downs too but first I am happy to say that today is International Rabbit Day!

Aunty Ann from Zoolatry made this for me to Celebrate my happy day so I would share with your what I have been upto. We had a nice spring so I got out for some adventures like going to see the bluebells

Then Little Louie came back after getting in trouble again....

He ended up going to rescue because we suspected Fluke and while he was there we had a little holiday to Cornwall and went to a nice japanese garden...

And we went to a little park....

and we also went to a beach....

We didn't much really because Daddy could go to far because of his knee but it was nice. Little Louie came home after we got back from holiday but unfortunately after he came home his left eye ruptured and had to be put to sleep. It seems he must have had an infection or abscess behind the eye that no one had any way of knowing about which is why he kept going down hill in the wild. There was nothing that we or anyone else could do so it was decided it was in his best interests to let him cross the Rainbow Bridge....this knocked mummy back quite a bit for a while and she is still very sad about it all.

Then this little fellow a fledgling Jackdaw turned up in the front garden. He was struggling and was very small had a little bit of trouble flying so mum started feeding him up. He would sleep in the garden, and eat and drink everything mum put down even though he was a little scared of mum at first he soon realized that mum was just trying to help him. it turned out that he had hurt his left foot, mummy thinks he must have caught it in something has 2 of his claws were missing and looks like they had been ripped out so possibly cracked the bones a little, as he would start to limp when he was walking around and would spend a lot of time napping in the sun. But after a few weeks he slowly got better.

He loves Mummy, he likes mummy to feed him like a baby bird and he gets very excited to see her each day except for when its windy. When it windy he gets a bit spooky and when it rains he likes to sit on the fence where the carport roof overhangs to shelter.  And he's grown and filled out since mummy has been feeding him. Mummy named him Baby Jackie although he comes to Baby.

Jo-Jo still comes a lot, at least once a day although this week she's coming more as her Human mama is away at the moment so she's craving lots of love which mummy is giving her hence the muddy footprints on mummy's shoulder *giggles*...

And I have had a few walks on the moors recently as I had my health check and vaccination in August and the Vet said I needed to watch my weight...to many treats from Daddy she said....not sure I know what the Vet is on about but my treats have been reduced by a lot which I'm not happy about at all!

Mummy also said I haven't been able to get out much because our summer has been awful so much rain mummy couldn't even cut the grass much...she's only cut it 3 times this year since the spring. She managed to cut it last week as we had a few nice day but she said it would probably be the last time if the weather ends up being like last autumn.... she may get one last quick trim next week if the for cast is right for Wednesday and Thursday but she said we would have to wait and see if its right.

Seasons Change

 Hello Blogville it your one and only Gossip Bunny with all the latest ponderings and news from our little corner of the globe.....

It comes a time when seasons change from Autumn to Winter to Spring and then back again as Mother Nature changes her mind about which one we are in. And then we start to head in to Summer as the temperature start to slowly increase and then decrease as Mother Nature changes her mind yet again. Mother Nature is fickle like that as she tries to decide which season she will give us each and everyday. As our Humans start to plan for summer, they plan little jobs in the garden, they plan their days out on any nice days they may get, They plan holidays/vacations and getaways to make the most of any nice weather they may get....that is if Mother Nature allows us to have some nice weather.

And us animals well the birds have already built their nests and started rearing their new little families, the Hedgehog are mating some are already rearing their next generation, its the same with foxes and badgers and all manner of creatures. Lambs are being born left right and center and the ponies on Dartmoor are having their babies...Little foals and little lambs are frolicing about....they don't take notice of the weather they just have to get on with their lives rearing their little families....Only Humans ponder on the weather and Mother Nature's choices on what she gives us......

So while every human is pondering we will move swiftly on to the Subject of Little Louie the Hedgehog after he turned up in the garden from his escape we have finally turned a corner. Mum after she removed all the tics he had ,she treated his ringworm and following some great advice to balance the bacteria in his gut which was causing him some issue he gained a lot of weight to nearly 1kg he finally stopped coming out in the day and fully transitioned to coming out early evenings and going to bed by the time it starts to get light and sometimes earlier if it was cold or wet. Mum made the decision that it was time for him to try and live fully wild, last night she let him roam the the back garden until it got dark and then she opened up the back garden to the front garden so the that he could leave if he wanted...which he did after eating some of his food last night and then he was off to have some adventures, He didn't come back to bed this morning but while we don't know where he is we don't think he has gone to far. Mummy will continues to put food in his food station and in the greenhouse for him plus there are the food stations in the front garden plus a spare nest box for him to use so he can come back if he needs to....its been a long road to recovery for him but he's finally where he belongs in the wild.

We also had another Hedgehog, we called him Henry that we sent to rescue poor man had a bad case of Fluke and was so skinny we didn't know if he was going to make it but he did and the rescue brought him back last week and he was released in to his nest box so that was another bit of good news.

And I am sure you all want to hear about Jo-Jo well she comes every day now sometimes its just for some food and sometimes its to play as well as some food. She has been a bit naughty as she chased Little Louie around the garden a couple of times to tease him, she also tried teasing me too but I chased her back so now she just checks out any holes that I dig in the garden to see what I am doing. She has gone back to landing on Mummy's shoulder again too and she doesn't just visit once a day she comes and goes all day long....and we think she has a boyfriend as there is a young male crow from last years broods hanging a round her, he used to chase her with his parents but they are off rearing their next lot of babies so he has been on his own for a couple of weeks. Jo-Jo came this morning and the male came too he stayed on the shed roof while she was eating with Mummy and when she finish she filled her beak and crop and went on the shed with him, her seemed to be watching over her on guard while some seagulls flew over the house and then when she joined him on the shed she clearly wasn't afraid of him and was watching the seagulls too and then he flew off and she seemed to follow him in the same direction...so we will see what happens in the future.

As for me well I'm a little happier the weather is better and more like summer so I can get out and about a little and spen a lot of time in the garden and when its not so good...

Well I get up to mischief indoors*giggles*

Happy Hoppy Easter Monday

 Hello Blogville...Do you remember me? Yes it's me your one and only Gossip Bunny Little Miss Titch. I haven't posted since the New Year and to be honest that has been my fault but how do you write posts when nothing much has been happening? There are only so many times you can do updates on Little Louie hedgehog and Jo-Jo the crow when she decides to visit that a gossip bunny like me can write before we all get bored with reading them. The weather here has been horrible mainly rain since the Autumn started and it hasn't really stopped apart from the odd day so there hasn't been much going on with adventuring for me. Also Dads knee has been bad and needed to be fixed so driving has been a bit a bit of a no go but now that is on the mend but still has months before he recovers.

Thursday morning we woke up to this but then a couple of hours later and it was all gone because the rain came back

Beginning of March mum put Little Louie back out in the garden and set up his nest box in the greenhouse after letting him out of his hutch in the shed for a few hours in the afternoon for a few weeks....The first night out and he escaped and went walk about for a week. Mum looked for him but couldn't find him so all she could do was leave the back garden open and put his food in the greenhouse and in his food station with the hopes he would come back. After a couple of days his food started to go and a week later he was back. Mum went out in the back garden after breakfast to get the stuff for the birds and there he was as if he had never been away. Mum fixed the hole where he got out and then scooped him up to check him over before giving him some breakfast in the greenhouse....he was very hungry. as He was still a wake at 9am mum checked him over and found he was covered in tics all over so after a few days of removing them mum finally got them all off but she also discovered that his Ringworm infection came back with a vengeance so he's on a 5 day course of treatment baths and special cream to try and clear it up before it can become a real problem and makes him lose all his spines...just today and tomorrows to go and then he needs to be checked over. Mum also sent off a poop sample to be checked  to make sure he hasn't picked up anything else plus he's having some other treatment to boost his immune system. He really wasn't ready to leave us and was struggling again so that is why he came back. on dry days he still comes out in the garden until 8 or 9am which is not safe for him....he's a little rascal for sure. 

 

Jo-Jo has been coming a couple times a week depending on the weather

And as for me well I have been out in the garden a few times in between all the rain but that's all. It's just been so boring for me....
