Hello Blogville its your one and only Gossip Bunny with all the latest news on her travels. We are back home from our vacation but mum found it tough to help me with my blogs with everything thing we were doing and after each adventure I would spend lots of time doing this who knew vacationing was so tiring?
So here's the next instalment of my travels to Restormel Castle. The current castle dates to the 13th century but there are parts of the castle remains that are earlier which are from the 1100's...
As you can see its pretty impressive with a moat too. The flat land had other building that were part of the castle but they haven't been excavated yet and we have no idea if that will happen in the future. another interesting point if you look at the photo below is that they have also found the remains of a Roman fort in the field above the car park. you can just about see the faint earthworks below the grass like 2 lines in the shading of the grass....
Not sure if they will do any explorations of the Roman fort but they have only recently discovered the fort so who knows what will happen in the future. But any way I made history by being the first domestic Bunny to pay a visit to the castle.....Any way you need to come back to see the next installment of my vacation...
xoxo Little Miss Titch
My goodness, what an amazing place to visit ... so very, very old, and so beautiful with an interesting history. No wonder you were a bit tired though, walking all those grounds and fields around it. We do have to admit that homecoming is nice, ever after a wonderful vacation. (PS remind your Mommy to check her email, we're sending her a short one ...) Bye now, Ann & June
