Speedy is going to the vets tomorrow

We noticed when we first brought speedy home that his left eye was a different shape to his right eye but since we came home that the left eye now has a little bit hazy.So we have done a little digging and it looks like that speedy has glaucoma in his eye.So tomorrow we are taking speedy to the vet to confirm that it is glaucoma and to find out if it is hereditary which is fairly coman in white rabbits or if something else is behind it.I'll update this when we find out

  1. A hazy eye can also be an indication of cataracts; only a vet can tell you which for sure, though, so we'll be thinking good thoughts for Speedy's visit.

Here's some info that may be helpful:

    1. I know it could be that but he's to young for cataracts and his lef eye and pupilis larger that the right and the haze is on the cornea not the lens so it more likly to be glaucoma which I have now found out is hereditary in white breeds of rabbits and normally breeder's cull rabbits with this problem but he was rescued from auction where he would have gone for meat or worse by lovely guy who rescues rabbits and other animals all the time and he came home with us to his forever home and he will live out his natural life with us even if that eye goes blind,if Weasley from rabbit's eats quilts can have a happy life with no sight then speedy can be happy with 1 good eye but we will know more later today.thank you for the info though jade
